Historique :	Provient d'un oratoire sis dans l'hôtel de la Petite Abbaye, situé dans l'Enclos, détruit en 1949 par les services de la Reconstruction. Elle fut stockée dans le souterrain fait par les Allemands sous l'Enclos, puis mise au Musée pour la sauver. Le bâtiment a dû servir à l'origine de lieu de repli derrière les remparts pour les chanoines de Sainte-Croix de Saint-Lô.

Précision sur l'inscription :	Armoiries : d'azur à une main d'argent, tenant une crosse d'or, accostée de deux fleurs de lis de même. Coquille à dextre de la hampe de la crosse. Qui est le blason d'un abbé de Sainte-Croix, abbé commanditaire allemand.
