Historique :	Groupe retrouvé sous le palier du maître-autel de l'église par M. l'abbé Gaslonde en 1939 : le saint était alors sans tête, et le groupe présentait des manques et parties détachées. Il semblait avoir été recouvert d'un badigeon à la chaux. Après avoir été fortement restauré et repeint en mai 1939 par Eugène Lepetit, sculpteur à Caen, le groupe fut placé dans la chapelle du transept nord.
