En 1921, les trois compagnies de navigation, Cunard, White Star et Red Star, s'unirent pour créer la Société anonyme de l'Hôtel Atlantique. Elles voulaient disposer d'un établissement modèle pour recevoir les futurs émigrants vers les Etats-Unis et satisfaire aux contrôles sanitaires. L'architecte Levavasseur dressa les plans de l'ensemble architectural. L'Hôtel Atlantique, achevé en 1922, se compose d'un quartier pour infectés et d'un autre pour désinfectés. Il comprend un ensemble de bâtiments s'ordonnant autour d'une cour rectangulaire au centre de laquelle se trouve le restaurant. L'ensemble des parois était décoré de peinture au pochoir.Classement monument historique :
