faire régner la bonne entente entre les gens demer utilisateurs du Port de Barneville-Carteret ; développer parmi les amateurs le goût de la navigation de plaisance et de leur en faciliter la pratique ; permettre à la naviguation de plaisance de s'organiser et de se développer ; faire de Barneville Carteret pour les plaisanciers venant des autres ports une relâche agréable en leur offrant notamment les mêmes commodités et en les recevant dans les locaux du club ; organiser des activités marines : régates, croisières, concours divers, tant pour les bateaux à voile qu'à moteur ; développer et entretenir des relations avec les autres yacht-clubs en particulier ceux des îles anglo-normandes ; assurer une coordination efficace entre les membres du yacht-club et les autorités portuaires
